God said in Ezekiel
36:16-21 that he would place his people in exile
because of their rebellion and hard hearts. But in
Ezekiel 36:3-7 and 22, 24 He also said that He would
bring them home again--not because they deserve it
(they don't), but because He promised it. Failure to
bring them home would make God to be a liar,
something He cannon be. Ezekiel 37:7-8 and 11-13
provide an detailed and astonishing account of God
bringing His people back to Israel.
- In Ezekiel 36:11
and 33-36 God foretells of great cities and towns
being rebuilt and the land bring forth much fruit,
just like has happened since Israel became a nation
in 1948.
- And, in Ezekiel 37:9-10 and 15-22 God
explains in detail how the bones form one nation
again, after 1,876 years of exile.
- Finally, as
explained in Chart
3, Jerusalem is taken back by Israel in the Six
Day War of 1967, fulfilling the prophecy of Jesus in
Luke 21:24.
- Some time in the not too distant future
the world system will make a covenant (most likely a
peace covenant) with Israel that will start the
final seven years of history before the return of
Christ.
